I Am An Emmy Nominee!!!

This morning I was volunteering in Lucy’s class for a couple of hours. When I finished, I walked out to my car and I looked at my cell phone. I had missed an extraordinary number of calls. My first thought was “Uh-oh!” There were multiple calls from Two Little Hands, my sister Emilie, and my husband Aaron. I checked the messages. The first one was from my friend and employee LeeAnn, saying, “Congratulations!!! You have been nominated for an Emmy for “Outstanding Performer in a Children’s Television Series.”

I sat in the car for a minute and thought does she really mean I got nominated?

I called LeeAnn back to verify and I asked her to look at it again just to be sure before I called or emailed everyone. My first call was to my mom. Then my phone began buzzing and ringing nonstop!

I just had to share with all of you too! Can you believe it? Me!!! Rachel Coleman, from Signing Time! Here is the proof. Scroll down halfway.

No one ever deserved an emmy more. If only things were truly just and the show got an emmy nod as well. You should win!

Even though I’m new to signing time it was obvious to me from day one the show was destined for greatness. You make it incredibly fun and easy to learn sings. I left a message on my profil that I thought was a testimonial. -my son is singing the silly pizza song to me as I type. You are a daily part of our lives and it’s my duty to inform you that your biggest fan, my son Colt, may perhaps be a stalker. No kidding! I have a neice who’s name is Rachael. Occasionally, I spell your name that way and am soon corrected by my son. Of course there’s no A in Rachel.
This morning he asked me how to spell your last name! LOL. He just turned 5 but he can read and is good at memorizing numbers. The only websites he’ll log onto is Noggin and Signingtime. And he checks yours daily. He also knows that you live in Utah so……..if a sweet little boy shows at your door soon, please, give him a coat! We’re from Texas!! LOL

Also, you need to think about how to make your life comfortable in the future sweetie. Your show is growing faster than you can imagine and now that your on mainstrem tv. Everywhere I go I sign with my boy. We’re stopped at least twice a day by someone who sings your intro song!! I feel like I’m a part of a special club!! I hope Alex and cutie Leah know they’re superstars too!!
Thank you SO much for making learning fun!!!!!
I know the nomination is mind blowing, but what is so amazing to me is the HUGE amount of not only children, but adults as well that have been profoundly affected by your show, and in such a positive way……….that is truly priceless!!!!!!!!!!
It restores my faith in humanity.

Congratulations!!! How wonderful to share the limelight with Elmo :) You certainly have your share of fans in our house. 11 month old Lilly is getting over an ear infection and the TV rules were relaxed (a lot) in our house. She wakes up from every nap now signing/asking for “Signing Time.” How can we say no?

Congratulations Rachel! I’m a lurker but had to finally comment for this one. That is fantastic news!

My son and I are huge fans of Signing Time. I’m a sign language interpreter so I’ve been signing with him since he was born. I started to Tivo Signing Time when he was around 9 months old. He gets so excited when it comes on. He’s just over 1 now and he knows 30 signs! It’s really the only TV he watches. I recommend signing to all my friends with babies and I also recommend watching Signing Time! :) Oh and I used to live in Utah and sometimes I recognize the locations shown so that’s fun (I also think you are cousins with my sister-in-law). Thanks for all you do!

    Rachel
Your family is such a blessing to so many. My family are huge Signing Time fans and have been for at least 19 months. Which is the length of time that our Noah has been with us.(born Nov of 2006) We knew that we were going to sign with Noah because we had heard so many reports on how wonderful it was for the development of little ones. This was before we even happened upon your videos at the Library. Finding your videos though was like finding the most precious jewel in the treasure chest.

Noah is now 19 months and signs and speaks so much!! He truly is a brilliant little one. His verbal skills are NOT impaired in anyway! He actually verbalizes so much that most people think he is older than he is.

Thank you for doing what you are called to do- I can not think of a better person or program to receive recognition from the public then you!!

The Sellers family look forward to your new series and learning sign language!

Wow,congratulations! Actually the nomination doesn’t surprise me at all. Your show is five star all the way! The only thing that does surprise me is that you weren’t nominated sooner. Best of luck!
